Importante: a programação dura apenas 3 semanas!

One of our favourite free programmes in the summer is Shakespeare in Central Park. This year the performances began this week, July 19th and will continue until August 14th. Tolstoy called Shakespeare’s “immoral and vulgar”, while Charles Darwin confessed that he tried to read Shakespeare but found it “so intolerably dull that it nauseated him”.

Even if it is difficult to follow Shakespeare, the stage scenery in the park is worth it. And the price (free) is great.

Important, even if the event is free you need to have a ticket, which can be obtained online or at the Delacourte Theatre in Central Park.  Wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk as the Theatre is right in the middle of the park.

This week an excellent choice is “Troilus and Cressida“.

Another summer program we love and super recommend is the Lincoln Center Outdoors. Important: it lasts only 3 weeks! Lincoln Center assembles a stage and other structures in its central square during the summer where we can hear excellent music of various styles and countries and have dance classes.
